“Education is the most powerful weapon, you can use to change the world”, quoted by a famous reformer. It is also one of the most important means of empowering women.
The reverse is also true and we have witnessed it in the british era which is still continuing. Thousands of our books were thrown in the sea, our old universities were charred to ashes, the ancient wisdom was seen as an orthodox approach towards dealing with day-to-day issues. We were made to doubt our own cultural history and the scientific discoveries laid by our seers and saints. Traditional attire was slowly replaced by western suits and boots which created an illusion in the minds of our people that we are inferior in comparison with the world around.
When we go in the history, Sanskrit was the main medium of teaching in our system. Imagine how scientific our system was, Sanskriti means Culture. Hence, Sanskrit is the most appropriate word to be used for the language of our teaching and training in order to not only teach but also to preserve our culture. The oldest Gurukul system where a child was supposed to live in an Ashram along with his mentors and teachers from an early age taught their disciples, all the required skills from basic values to earning the livelihood. The training was on 24*7 and the disciples were under the perennial supervision of their masters for years in order to make them eligible for the outer world, full of life challenges. Training and learnings were spontaneous, rigorous and yet not so difficult as it has become now a days.
The adaptability to an environment is smooth when the congeniality is high, the purpose is clear and there is no unnecessary distraction of whatsoever.
With a colonial history, We have the advantage of most english-speaking population in the world which can give the world maximum work force and hence we need to bring close attention to some key areas for a better system to be established as follows.
When the society makes the material gains as its prime goal and puts all its resources to achieve that goal, the disintegration of the family, society and nation is not far leading to question our policies and thought process related to our concurrent educational system.
We as a society are determined to bring honesty and integrity on the front row and reward the deserving ones to their highest honour. Let us all unite to bring the required reforms for the best of brains to bloom and make this country proud.
